December 29, (DAILY SUNRISE) — The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has started the auction process of 160 forfeited houses, plots of land and other properties.
The anti-graft agency made this known on Wednesday, stating that the properties for auction are mainly situated in Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt and other parts of the country.
It added that the forfeited assets to be auctioned include 122 houses, 18 plots of land, a diesel tanker and a generator.
The EFCC, in a statement sighted by DAILY SUNRISE added that interested participants in the bidding process have until January 9 to submit their bids.
“The auction is open to members of the public with the exception of individuals/corporate entities who have been/or are being prosecuted by the EFCC; Directors of such companies and employees of the EFCC,” the statement reads.
The commission said the final forfeiture of the auctioned properties is in accordance with the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, Public Procurement Act, 2007 and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act, 2022.
